Welcome to Sacramento, CA

Discover this land, like never before

California’s capital city, Sacramento has everything you would expect from a thriving, modern city. Diverse neighborhoods such as downtown, midtown, and Old Sacramento offer great restaurants, shopping, and theaters. Beyond the city’s charms, Sacramento is also a place where you can really enjoy the great outdoors.

Outdoor Sacramento

Where the Sacramento and America rivers meet is the popular discover park. It’s only a short distance from the city center and it’s great for picnicking, swimming, and fishing. There’s an archery range and it plays host to concerts in the summertime.

Along the way, you’ll find a variety of water based activities such as white water rafting, kayaking, boating, and fishing.

Sacramento

Sacramento is a prominent spot along the Pacific flyway so keep an eye out for a wide variety of migratory birds.

American River Bike-Way

Next, take a bike ride along the American River bike-way. It’s a 95 kilometer paved track. A great place to start out at is the Nimbus fish hatchery. The hatchery produces 4 million salmon and 430 thousand trout annually. Here you can watch the salmon go up the salmon ladder, feed the fish, and take in the beautiful surroundings along the river discovery trail.

Farm to Fork

Sacramento is called America’s Farm to Fork capital. No other major city is more centrally located and meets such a vast range of high quality farms, ranches, and vineyards. To experience Sacramento’s agritourism, join a guided bike tour. On the way, you can sample and buy food and produce at it’s absolute freshest.

One popular stop along the way is the Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg, where you can find some of Sacramento’s finest wines. It’s home to 10 different wineries so you’re bound to find something you like.

Less then an hour from the city is the Sacramento delta region. It’s a premier hunting and fishing region with plenty of guide and charter options available. There’s a variety of hotels, B&B’s, and camping grounds nearby along the river. This is a great place to spend a few nights to get away from it all.

Sacramento is unique, modern, and historical. With the great outdoors not too far away, this is a must do on your next trip.
